The Real Estate Transaction Standard (RETS) provides a common language spoken by systems that handle residential real estate information, such as multiple listing services (MLS). The Internet Data Exchange (IDX), commonly called Broker Reciprocity, is the technical means information passes from one system to another.

Mwendo allows the easy importation of NLS listings.

Multifamily Information and Transaction Standard
The National Multi Housing Council (NMHC) developed the Multifamily Information and Transaction Standard (MITS) in an industry-wide effort to create a common data standard and extensible mark-up language (XML) protocol to facilitate data and systems integration. MITS is funded and sponsored by a broad group of industry firms and is supported by the National Apartment Association. Mwendo supports its MITS Property-Marketing/ILS version 2.0.

This data standard defines the elements needed to describe a rental community, its rental units, amenities, and other marketing information including photographs. Furthermore, the standard allows for the exchange of information not only in a uniform means, but also allows for a property manager’s operating software to transmit the data, eliminating the manual processes used in the past.
