Reward Process

Mwendo values its clients! In gratitude for using its service to locate, identify, and purchase/lease a property, Mwendo offers rewards on select properties. The availability and amount of the reward is determined by the individual who created the listing (“the Poster”). The Poster creates the award offering to increase the visibility and appeal of the listing within the search results. Mwendo charges a promotional fee on select properties that choose to offer a reward.

This process benefits both the Poster and the tenant/homebuyer (“the Customer”):

Poster

  • Pay-For-Performance: You are not obligated to pay Mwendo the advertising or promotional fees until after the property is sold or leased.
  • Rewards increase the likelihood of a sale/lease of the property.
  • Rewards effectively lower the price of the property without actually lowering the selling price in the MLS.
    • So you can test how prospective homebuyers on Mwendo react to various prices via reward offerings without lowering the true sale price to those who may find it through other MLS sources.
Tenants/Homebuyers
  • Rewards give you additional spending money to pay moving expenses!
  • Increases your bargaining power when choosing among similarly desirable properties.

The reward creation, claim, and payment process is a multi-step procedure to help ensure the security and protection of all parties from fraud and create a more pleasant living arrangement search.








Poster creates property listing along with desired amount of Reward to offer should a transaction occur with a Customer (tenants/homebuyers). Once the Poster creates the listing, attaches any photographs, or Featured options, he or she elects to how much to pay the Mwendo for its marketing and advertising services (“Promotional Fee”) should a transaction occur as a result of Customer who discovering the listing via the website. Two components comprise the Promotional Fee. One portion is offered to the Customer by Mwendo as a reward for their patronage. The other portion is retained by Mwendo as a processing fee. The Poster may choose the Promotional Fee amount as a fixed value; based upon a percentage of the sale price; or no charge. Should the Poster select not to pay a Promotional Fee, then no reward component shall be presented to prospective tenants/homebuyers.

Customer selects property and requests Reward claim information prior to contacting Poster. The Customer reviews numerous listings that match inputted search criteria. Labels indicating Reward amounts, if any, accompany each listing. The Customer may sort the listings to highlight those with the largest Reward amount or eliminate those with no Reward from appearing in the search results. Once a favored listing is located, the Customer may request Reward claim information by clicking the “Print Claim Code” or “SMS Claim Code” links.

Mwendo generates a printable and electronic Claim Code. Mwendo generates a unique, numeric Claim Code. Each Claim Code associates the time of the request initiation, the value of the offered Reward, the Poster who created the listing, and the Customer. Since the cost of the property may change over time, the value of the Reward presented to future Customers may change if the Poster selected to peg the Reward as a percentage of the price. The amount of the Reward offered to a Customer is specific to the time the Claim Code was generated. Should the Poster alter the Reward amount at a later date, the original Customer may only claim the amount associated with his or her Claim Code.

Customer contacts Poster and presents Claim Code as evidence of using Mwendo. The Customer contacts (i.e., phone, email, or in-person visit) the Poster to discuss interest in the property. The Customer presents the Claim Code the Poster as evidence of having used Mwendo’s website.

Customer asks Poster for his or her Conversation Keyword. During this interaction, the Customer must request a special secret word, or Conversation Keyword, created by the Poster and also stored within Mwendo’s system. Knowledge of the Conversation Keyword serves as evidence of communication between the Customer and the Poster. This Conversation Keyword is created by the Poster during initial registration with Mwendo. All listings created by the Poster, should multiple ones exist, share the same Conversation Keyword. The Poster may change the Conversation Keyword at any time to reduce the likelihood of former prospective Customers falsely claiming interactions for other listings.

Poster submits Claim Code provided by Customer to Mwendo. For Mwendo to realize and acknowledge the occurrence of any offline or online interactions between the Poster and the Customer, one or both parties must notify Mwendo. The Poster may inform Mwendo by submitting the Claim Code provided by the Customer within the My Mwendo area of the website.

Or, Customer may submit Poster’s Conversation Keyword to Mwendo. Alternatively, the Customer may submit the Poster’s Conversation Keyword to Mwendo as acknowledgement of the interaction within the My Mwendo area of the website.

Mwendo acknowledges initial interaction between Customer and Poster. A “transaction in progress” notice is given displayed within My Mwendo. Mwendo confirms that the Customer or Poster inputted a correct and valid Conversation Keyword or Confirmation Code, respectively. After validation, a “transaction in progress” notice appears in the My Mwendo area of the website. The Poster may enter multiple Confirmation Codes given several potential Customers may initiate communications. However, a Customer may only enter one Conversation Keyword per listing. Customer purchases, leases, or executes contract from Poster. Customer wants Reward. The Customer completes a transaction by purchasing or leasing property from the Poster. The Customer now desires to receive the promised Reward from Mwendo.

Customer notifies Mwendo of completed transaction by providing key details of the contract. The Customer accesses the My Mwendo area of the website and provides key details of the contract or agreement terms. Examples of details may include: the final purchase price including taxes, levies, or fees; the name, address, and Conversation Keyword of the Poster; unit and street number of any property that may have been transacted; and the date of purchase, lease, or service initiation.

Or, Poster notifies Mwendo of transaction by providing key details of the contract. Alternatively, the Poster may notify Mwendo by accessing the My Mwendo area of the website and providing key details of the transaction similar.

Verification notice sent to Poster. If confirmed, process proceeds. If the Customer first notifies Mwendo as in step I , Mwendo submits a verification notice to the Poster indicating the information provided by the Customer. The Poster possesses the option to confirm or deny the verification notice. If the Poster denies the notice, the Customer may revise any errors or file a denial dispute Otherwise, the process proceeds.

Mwendo bills Poster. Should the Poster confirm the verification notice or first notify Mwendo of a completed transaction as in step I, the Promotional Fee is charged to the Poster’s account.

The Poster submits payment. The Poster submits payment via PayPal.

Mwendo pays the Customer the Reward as gratitude for patronage and retains some portion as a processing fee. Mwendo receives the Poster’s payment and submits the Reward to the Customer. Mwendo retains the agreed upon processing fee.
